NEAFP at 55: A Community Celebration

We invite you to join us for a special community celebration as the Northeast Area Food Pantry (NEAFP), a ministry of Bethany Christian Church, celebrates 55 years of serving neighbors throughout Lincoln. 55 Years of Neighbors Helping Neighbors ​A Community Celebration of the Northeast Area Food Pantry Saturday, October 17 | 4:00–7:00 p.m. Bethany Christian Church | 1645 N. Cotner Blvd., Lincoln This is a free, open-to-the-community event, and everyone is welcome. Since 1971, the Northeast Area Food Pantry has provided emergency food assistance to Lincoln neighbors experiencing food insecurity. Over the past 55 years, the pantry has remained a community-supported resource, adapting its services as needs have changed. The need for food assistance has grown significantly this year. In the first eight months of 2026, NEAFP has already served more households and individuals than during all of 2025. The pantry has also expanded its services to provide personal care and household items, helping families stretch limited resources. This celebration is an opportunity to recognize 55 years of service, thank the community that has supported the pantry, and showcase our expanded pantry space at Bethany Christian Church. The event will include: Live music by local musicians - Isiah, Keeran Woode, Jonathan Leach, Julietta Rabens Live art by local artists - Trent Grooms, Grant Dee, Jamie Lowis - with opportunities for guests to participate Music and art programming provided by Liminal Space Lyrics Coffee available for purchase from Alvin's Coffee Cookies and refreshments A family-friendly scavenger hunt featuring activities and information about food insecurity An opportunity to tour the expanded pantry space and learn more about NEAFP Guests are also welcome to bring non-perishable food items or personal care items to help stock the pantry. Monetary donations will also be gratefully accepted.
