"Black mothers have always been the architects of whole new worlds, choosing love, life, and possibility for their children even in the face of structural neglect." — Jamilah Lemieux (Black. Single. Mother.) Calling all Black mamas and their village! Friends, family, and loved ones are warmly invited to an intimate gathering and book discussion with renowned author and cultural critic Jamilah Lemieux as we celebrate her new book, Black. Single. Mother. Together, we will dive into a deep and honest conversation exploring the complexities, deep joys, myths, and radical truths of navigating Black single motherhood today. Bring your stories, your questions, and your heart for a room filled with shared wisdom and community connection. We believe in reducing and eliminating barriers to our program offerings when possible, and we also believe in equity and resource sharing. We encourage folks to sign up early since there are a limited amount available for the event. Community Pricing - Supports our community members that are unable to afford the General admission price, but are still able to contribute to the cost. General Admission - Supports our community members that can cover the cost for the type of event. Pay it Forward - Supports our community members that are able to cover their own costs, and a little extra for another community member.
