California vs France: Wine Tasting Event

California takes on France in four head-to-head matchups. Taste, debate and pick the winners with fellow wine lovers. What to expect: • Four head-to-head matchups: eight wines from California and France • The story behind the 1976 Judgment of Paris • What separates Old World and New World styles • Vote for your winner in each round and compare verdicts with the room • Complimentary cheeses, fresh baguette and accompaniments Four bottles, four of France's great regions, one hour. Wine Director Kevin Cluppert leads an intimate tasting through Champagne, the Loire Valley, Burgundy and Bordeaux, and explains what makes each place, and each glass, distinctive. We start with a vintage grower Champagne from old Grand Cru vines, move through crisp Sancerre and a Premier Cru Pommard, and finish with a classified red from Pessac-Léognan. You'll leave knowing how to read a French wine label and what to order next time. Come solo or bring a friend; you'll be swapping tasting notes with your neighbors by the second glass. The tasting is served with complimentary cheeses, fresh baguette and accompaniments.
