This is a hands-on workshop propagating California native plants from seed for the cool season. Learn the ins and outs of propagating California native plants from seed during the cool season. This hands-on workshop covers basic seed physiology, seed viability, germination cues, pretreatments, sowing and aftercare. This informative course is suitable for both professionals and anyone interested in learning propagation techniques for their home or community garden. Each student will take home the seeds they’ve sown! All materials provided. Class includes a tour of TPF seed facilities. Seed kits include: • reusable flats, pots and plug trays • 10 species of cool season seeds • tags • comprehensive sowing + resource guide This class takes place indoors and outdoors. Please wear closed-toe shoes, bring water and sun-protection. Genevieve Arnold is TPF’s Seed and Conservation Program Manager and has worked with California native plants and seeds for many years. Her focus is on the conservation and preservation of our local and regional wild spaces, and on facilitating resilient and integrated garden spaces that support healthy ecosystems and create connectivity, joy and serenity. She enjoys the beauty of native plants in all their phases, including the amazing stages of fruit and seed development. 📅 Refund Policy: Refunds are available up to seven days before the event.
