RIEKO ft. Emilia Turner / DJ Olive Kimoto

PRS is proud to host the Japanese-born, U.K.-based ritual artist and composer RIEKO for her Los Angeles debut. RIEKO will perform tracks off her 2026 sophomore EP Zakuro, hailed as “ritualistic and confrontational” (Mixmag Asia), and “a shard of lightning puncturing the very depths of our shared experience” (Gata Magazine), in addition to her 2023 debut EP Regenesis – comprising an ongoing project of mythological, audio-visual world-building. Her compositions move fluidly between avant-classical instrumentation and heavy metal guitar, roaring vocals and whispered incantations to left-field club production. She will open the evening with her signature guided meditation and automatic writing workshop SEANCES by RIEKO, with live improvisational score by RIEKO on orchestral guitar, and PRS’s own Emilía Turner on synth. The evening includes DJ sets by L.A. native Olive Kimoto – known for her ethereal, experimental dreampop, and as a host for KCRW and NTS Radio. RIEKO (Rieko Whitfield) has held residencies at the Tate Modern and Tate Britain, the Institute of Contemporary Arts London, and Turner Contemporary, and earned an MA at the Royal College of Art. Her work has been featured on AnOther, NOWNESS Asia, Numéro Netherlands, Aesthetica, BBC and NTS Radio. @riekowhitfield riekowhitfield.com About Our Library Concert Series “The universality of music, and its importance in the life of [humanity] is in my ways analogous to water. It may exist in countless forms and several states. It nourishes and sustains many kinds of internal life…Like beauty, it is forever ministering, enriching and expanding the potentials of human consciousness.” - Manly P. Hall The concerts on the campus of the Philosophical Research Society aim to bring listener and creator together for one transcendent experience. In his essay “Philosophy of Music”, Manly Hall wrote: “The primary purpose of art is to interpret. It seeks to convey an impression by which we share with the artist some conviction or ideal as a result of an emotional impact.” The intimate performancesprogrammed at PRS allow for an impactful and connective experience for all. We strive to provide a space for artists inspired by the beauty around them and within, and take listeners to undiscovered terrain.
