Swanning is reflection. Two swans facing each other, one mirroring the other, until their noses touch and their necks form one heart… I believe feedback is the only way we grow. And feedback is reflection, me reflecting back to you what you are to me… The face expressions, sounds, and words we use help us understand how to do better… Feedback, spoken or not, is how we find out who we are, and how to get better. We can’t see our own face without a mirror… We invite you to experience two swans in a pond reflect each other, and the pond reflects them both. Two artists reflecting each other, while you reflect it all back to them and the loop goes on… As we prepare for this week’s theme, we invite you to reflect on recent days: What are you reflecting back to the people around you? And what are they reflecting back to you? On Thursday, November 12th, ITAI 🎷 sits face to face with MonsterLuna once again, for a night of mirroring, listening and responding in real time… We call it “Sound Connections” as in - connection with others, with self, and with something bigger than all of us... Step into the Swan Lake Circle. ✨ About the musicians: ✨ MonsterLuna (Luna Achiary) 🎤🔮 Luna Achiary, who performs as MonsterLuna, is an indie artist from Italy and France, established in Los Angeles. Born into a family of jazz and opera artists, musicians and performers, she holds an AA in composition and has more than ten years of experience as a multilingual singer, songwriter, musician and producer. She has performed for the King of Bahrain and at the Miller Outdoor Theater, opened for Idan Raichel, and played Burning Man, Lightning in a Bottle and the Joshua Tree Music Festival. In the studio, she has recorded and written for Closer Licensing and shadowed Grammy-nominated engineers in some of LA’s most prestigious studios, specializing in world cinematic landscapes and captivating hooks. Her collaborations include the Earth Harp Collective, Morillo, Stephan Jacobs, Sonic Devas and Evan Hatfield, who joins her on the 2024 single “Vuela.” Her 2024 EP is called RITUAL. She also offers workshops for non-profits, Native American communities, retreats and end-of-life care centers. ✨ ITAI 🎷🎹 ITAI (Itai Isenberg), Founder of The Residency & Saxophonist by training. He uses a multi-instrumental live looping setup to compose in real time an intentional movement experience. Born in Boston and raised in Israel, ITAI has a diverse musical background that includes Middle Eastern music, classical training as a child and the Rimon School of Jazz. After moving to the States he first made a living playing sax on the streets, went on to share stages with artists like Pato Banton, and perform with his solo, live act on some of the most celebrated stages in the world. After years of touring, he felt a pull to root back into a local community, and The Residency was born: a weekly space where he sits, “Swanning” face-to-face with a different artist each week and creates one-night-only Sound Connections that can’t be replicated or repeated. The Story of The Residency - Sound Connections: From ITAI: “After years of touring the world and playing on the biggest stages I could imagine, I started looking for something deeper. Indeed there is real magic in playing in front of big crowds, yet I was craving something, an ongoing connection, to root into my community, and for that, I knew I needed a consistent local experience, which is how The Residency was born. This new season of The Residency is about deepening our connection, as we grow as individuals and as a community. If the artists are the first swans, creating the spark together, this season is about the audience swanning as well, reflecting back at each other, and at the artists, in a beautiful swan lake of mirroring. Every Thursday, we’ll feature one very special guest artist, sitting across from me as we create the soundtrack for the night from scratch. What is Swanning? Like two swans facing each other in a moment of deep connection, this allows us to share and respond, creating something raw, alive, and unrepeatable. In this format, the audience surrounds the face-to-face artists which forms a circle that makes everyone part of the experience.
