TRANS•POSITION: A Queer & Trans Symphony in the Garden

Join ONE Archives and TRANS•FORM’s queer orchestral collective for an afternoon concert with a repertoire curated for and by queer people. About the Event TRANS•POSITION is a community-centered outdoor event bringing together artists, friends, family, neighbors, and community for an afternoon concert with a repertoire curated for and by queer people. The repertoire will include pieces by queer composer Ethyl Smith’s String Quartet in E minor and orchestral versions of Pink Pony Club and BAILE INoLVIDABLE. Bring friends, family, and community together to share and celebrate queer people and music. Enjoy a space to relax in a world that constantly disrupts the simple peace everyone seeks in their lives. What to Expect • Over an hour of live music • 10+ queer and trans-identifying instrumentalists • Drag performances • Access to ONE Archives’ current exhibition (to be announced) About ONE Archives ONE Archives at the USC Libraries is the largest repository of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer (LGBTQ+) materials in the world. Founded in 1952, ONE Archives houses millions of archival items, including periodicals, books, films, videos, audio recordings, photographs, artworks, organizational records, and personal papers. ONE Archives has been part of the University of Southern California Libraries since 2010. About TRANS•FORM As an organization, TRANS•FORM produces a multi-approach programming series. Rooted in transness, the series is a community-based drag and arts initiative for and by queer, trans, and nonbinary people. By bringing together queer & trans artists, resource organizations, performers, creatives, and vendors, TRANS•FORM works to build coalition within the Greater Los Angeles queer and trans community.
