Format Crash Course: Long-Form Improvisation

Join improv veteran & famed best-in-the-business Game Master John Serpico for a workshop of long-form improvisational formats, for the ages! About the Class Long-form improvisational formats are so much more than a set of steps. Different formats unlock unique and wonderful storytelling and character-building opportunities. In Format Crash Course, we will explore not just the formats, but also how they can transform your improvisation and serve as foundations for creating formats of your own. The formats covered will be: Spokane, La Ronde, Armando and (time willing) Where It Happens. About the Instructor John Serpico has been directing, teaching and producing improvisational comedy for over twenty years. You can currently see him performing in the Nova Show and Magic: The Gathering: The Show. About the Class Level At The Nova Comedy Collective, we call this an ORBIT/DEEP SPACE CLASS - meaning it's perfect for participants with past experience, from intermediate, to advanced/seasoned. It's ideal for those with some past exposure to improvisation classes/workshops, game and scene format experience (6-12+ months experience). About the Location This class is located at The Cambridge Foundry, inside THE YELLOW MULTIROOM. If you head in through the front of the Foundry, you'll see a staircase straight ahead. The entrance to the room is right under the stairs. And if you need help, you can ask at the front table - The Foundry staff is ready to help!
