Micro Memoir Workshop

Writing your memoir doesn't have to be complicated or chaotic. Join us to see how bite-sized stories pack a punch where less is more. Micro memoir, varying from one line to one page, pinpoints a moment in time, highlights details that stand for the universal, and captures the essence of story. Practicing the craft of the micro allows us to pay attention to every word, every inclusion, every possible angle. Whether you enjoy short form personal essays or want to jump-start a longer project, experimenting with micro memoir is a fun, surprising exercise for all writers. Through examples, prompts, and feedback, we’ll play with form and craft devices, including the hermit crab, metaphor, and magical thinking.
