INTERPRETIVE TRAM TOUR in the FAKAHATCHEE PRESERVE

Hop on the tram for a fun and educational tour of the Fakahatchee Preserve, the largest state park in Florida! GHOST RIDER TRAM TOUR in the Fakahatchee Preserve. Departure 10:00 AM, tour ends at approximately 12:30. You don’t have to get your feet wet or drive your car down Janes Scenic Drive to see the wonders of the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, the largest state park in Florida. The Ghost Rider tram named in honor of the famous Ghost Orchid found in the park, lets you discover the Preserve’s protected wildlife and plants without concentrating on the road. An experienced Guide leads a 2 1/2 hour tour and points out interesting aspects of the Preserve. The tour includes an optional 10 min. slow walk down an old logging path to see numerous air plants, a variety of ferns, and seasonally blooming orchids. Note: Ghost orchids will not be seen on this tour. Important: The tour may last longer than 2 1/2 hours, it is highly recommended participants do not make plans to leave the park precisely at 12:30 PM. The tram can accommodate 20 people, some seats face backwards. Participants will be required to sign a standard release of liability form. Please wear secure shoes (no sandals) and dress accordingly for this outdoor event. Bring your binoculars and cameras. The tram leaves from the Visitor Center at corner of Janes Scenic Drive and Coastline Drive, Copeland (not Naples). Arrival instructions will be e-mailed to all participants the day before the tour. Price disclosure: Tickets are $35.00 per person plus Eventbrite fees, with the full $35.00 directly supporting the Fakahatchee. CAUTION: The ONLY access to Janes Scenic Drive is Via Route 29. DO NOT rely on GPS or Google Map info which will show other routes that were closed a long time ago. If driving I-75 take Exit 80.
