D. R. Saenz presents The 28th File, A Story of Defiance and Resilience

They offered him hospice. He declined. They gave him a timeline. He ignored it. An evening with the man medicine said would not survive. In 2019, D. R. Saenz was offered hospice. He declined. In 2020, he stepped away from pharmaceutical management on his own terms. Twenty years of daily physical therapy later, he is believed to be the only known person walking today without a rebuilt pelvis, and he's still standing. The 28th File: A Memoir of Defiance is the documented account of that journey: every surgery, every infection, every decision. Now, for one night at SVSU, D. R. Saenz brings that story to the stage. This is not a story about what medicine did for him. It is a story about what he did when medicine ran out of answers, and why defiance is sometimes the only thing keeping you alive. Whether you're fighting your own battle, walking beside someone who is, or simply looking for a reason to keep going, this evening is for you. VIP tickets include up-front designated seating and a signed hardcover copy of The 28th File. VIP seating is limited. After the program, visit the book table to meet D. R. Saenz, pick up signed copies of any of his 11 books, and take home a free keepsake with your purchase."I was told to prepare for the end. I prepared for the comeback instead."
