During this rare behind-the-scenes tour, visitors will explore one of Wisconsin's premier public health laboratories, where scientists work every day to monitor infectious diseases, investigate environmental health concerns, support outbreak investigations, and respond to public health emergencies. Guests will visit multiple laboratory stations, meet the scientists behind the work, see specialized laboratory equipment, and learn how MHDL supports disease surveillance, wastewater monitoring, environmental testing, newborn screening, and emergency response. This unique experience offers an inside look at public health science in action and how MHDL's 150+ year legacy continues to protect the health of Milwaukee residents.
