Attend Workshops and 2 Performance Intensives Ticket includes 20 hours of dance -- 2 Performance Intensives (including workshop material provided ahead of time), Performance reheasal, Performance with Zoe Jakes at the show (Saturday, 11/14), and 3 workshops. Performance Intensive (Beginner and Int/Adv) consists of 12 hours plus 2 hours of Performance Reheasal. Thursday, 11/12 - Beg - 10am-1pm: Int/Adv - 2-5pm Friday, 11/13 - Beg - 10am-1pm: Int/Adv - 2-5pm Saturday, 11/14 - Beg - 4-5pm: Int/Adv - 5-6pm WORKSHOP Selections for Saturday and Sunday Saturday, 11/14 - 10 to Noon Find your flow: The Art of fluid transitions Fluidity is having the capability of flowing freely like water, to change easily from one state to another effortlessly. Take the technique you have and add the magic that will change the way you move. Using playfulness in class, we will begin to explore the space between movement, the transition of the pathways. Using momentum, musicality and breath, we will explore our fluidity creatively while not compromising the dance technique. This is the next level for the dancer, it is subtle but it is what makes us not want to pull our eyes away...its the magic sparkles. This workshop is great for: All levels of dancers eager to learn the foundations of fluidity Seasoned performers seeking to add a new layer of grace and refinement Saturday, 11/14 - 1 to 3pm The Timeless Heart Sharp and fluid isolation combos based in the spirit of musicality and breath. We will use arms and isolation pathways to create lines of energy through the body and use dynamics to create tension and drama. The students will take home unique ways to connect and dance to music, and possibly even find themselves more embodied in their art by the end of this workshop. Sunday, 11/15 - 11 to 2pm West Coast Fusion Fundamentals A class inspired by Zoe's teachers and the influential artists of the west coast 60's-early 2000s. In Zoe's formative years, she trained heavily with Suhaila Salimpour and Katarina Burda. She was lucky enough to catch some of Jamila Salimpour's Sunday classes in Berkeley back in the day and take a few workshops with John Compton. Her foundation for everything she has done ever since has leaned heavily on her dance history, and she is excited to share the technique and spirit with you. We will work on the dance moves from this era and then bring them together in combos that will ignite and inspire your dance. ------------------------------------------------------------ Disclosures: No REFUNDS are given.
