Rose Ever Blooming, Christmas Concert with Magnum Chorum

Featuring a Christmas Oratorio by Minnesota's own Jocelyn Hagen and Tim Takach Magnum Chorum delivers the Midwestern premiere of Rose Ever Blooming, a gorgeous new Christmas Oratorio by Minnesota’s Tim Takach and Joselyn Hagen with orchestra and solo violin. The work honors the role of Mary in the story of Jesus, highlights the miracle of birth and importance of eternally strong family bonds, and pairs traditional sounds and divine moments from the Christmas story with more modern human reflections inspired by the poignant poetry of Patricia Monaghan. Takach and Hagen have expertly weaved their libretto of poetry and carols, and composed a moving work with familiar musical touchstones while invoking more modern reflections and sensibilities. “We were drawn to this story as parents. The everyday act of bringing life into the world is shared by millions, yet feels miraculous to each family, and recognizes the divine within all of us,” offers Hagen. Come experience this lush new Minnesota masterwork with orchestra that passionately brings the wonder of Christmas into our time and hearts.
