Photo Mural Tour in Camp North End

Explore Camp North End through a creative lens on a guided Photo Mural Tour, a walking experience that blends murals and photography. Explore Camp North End through a creative lens on this guided Photo Mural Tour, a walking experience that blends public art, photography, and community storytelling. The tour begins with a short, accessible introduction from our photographer, Michael Maxwell, covering practical tips to help you get more out of your camera or phone. Topics include composition, framing, working with light and shadow, finding interesting angles, and noticing details that elevate mural photography. These insights are designed for all experience levels and can be applied immediately during the walk. As the group moves from mural to mural, ArtWalks CLT and a mural artist will share background on the artworks, the artists who created them, and the role murals play within Camp North End and the broader Charlotte art scene. You’ll have time at each stop to observe, photograph, ask questions, and experiment with what you’ve learned and get tips from Maxwell. The tour concludes with a casual group reflection, offering time to share photos, insights, and feedback from the experience. This wrap-up creates space for conversation, connection, and creative exchange among participants. What to Expect • A guided walking tour to around 10 murals at Camp North End • Photography tips focused on composition, lighting, shadows, and perspective • Insight into the murals, artists, and public art from an artist and ArtWalks CLT • Time to photograph murals with guidance and creative freedom • A group reflection at the end to share observations and takeaways All skill levels are welcome.
