Whiskey Class - Cask Strength Scotch

Taste and learn about Cask Strength Scotch with Evan Christie The allure of cask strength whiskey lies not so much in the brute force of its proof but in its intense and unadulterated characters. Knowing this whiskey, once it had been laid down in a barrel, was solely the product of oak and time is an almost poetic idea. This straight-from-the-cask spirit carries so much more flavor, more intensity, and especially more body that something brought down to the lowest legally allowed ABV. Though rarer in the world of Scotch than in American whiskey, it is always a treat to taste these exceptional bottles. In this class, Evan Christie will lead you through a selection of Cask Strength Scotches. Expect flavor profiles ranging from smoky and rich to fruity and subtle. Bottles will hail from all major Scotch regions - from the famous Islay to the picturesque highlands, from historic Campbelltown to the ever popular Speyside. Join us to taste and learn about these unrestrained examples of the distillers art.
