Gateway RoboWorks

Explore robotics at Gateway RoboWorks! Robotics for grades 1–12, from beginners to FIRST Tech Challenge. Gateway RoboWorks is a school-year robotics program for students in grades 1–12. The program will meet Tuesdays from 4:30–6:00 p.m. and will follow the Robertson County Schools calendar, including scheduled school breaks and closures. Throughout the program, participants will learn and apply the engineering design process as they identify problems, develop ideas, build solutions, test their designs, and make improvements through hands-on exploration. RoboWorks Explorers — Grades 1–6 RoboWorks Explorers will follow a robotics curriculum developed by the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation. Using robotics materials made available by the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation and TVA, students will build foundational skills in engineering, coding, problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork. RoboWorks FTC Teams — Grades 7–12 RoboWorks FTC Teams will take on advanced engineering and coding challenges using competition robotics kits produced by REV Robotics and made possible by TVA. Working as teams, students will design, build, program, test, and continuously improve robots that they will use in competitions during the spring. Participants in both programs will have access to Gateway STEM Center’s Maker Space equipment—including laser cutters, 3D printers, and more—to design and create custom parts that support the development of their robots. Gateway RoboWorks gives students an entire school year to turn ideas into working machines, learn from challenges, collaborate with teammates, and experience the excitement of robotics from initial design through competition. A limited number of partial and full scholarships are available for qualified families.
