Poetry Reading: Ansley Moon & friends

Joining Ansley for this reading will be Lana Reeves, Laurel Sorenson, Tianeé Harris, and Cortney Warner. This is a free event, but please RSVP so we know how many people to expect! Space is limited, and we might cap it and start a waitlist depending on how many RSVPs we get. Seating is limited, so please don't forget to snag your tickets and make sure you get here on time to get a seat if you need one! There is extra standing room once seats are taken up. About Registering the Missing: At the heart of Ansley Moon’s haunting poetry collection, is a heartbreaking exploration of the often impossible choices faced by mothers and daughters in a world where over 50 million Indian girls have gone missing due to infanticide and gender-based violence. Interspersed with archival documents and photographs, Moon’s poems move deftly between the voices of a widow forced to relinquish her daughter, an orphaned child navigating inherited loss, and a chorus of unclaimed girls who remind us that “nothing stays buried, not even a daughter.” About Ansley Moon: Ansley Moon (they/them) is the author of the poetry collections Register the Missing (Kaya Press) and How to Bury the Dead (Black Coffee Press). They are an Asian American adoptee, poet, and educator. A graduate of the MFA program at The New School and a recipient of a Barbara Deming Memorial Fund Grant, Moon’s work has appeared in Agni, Hyphen Magazine, Southern Humanities Review, among other publications. Moon writes the Teach this Poem series for the Academy of American Poets, and is a Co-Founding member of The Starlings Collective, a BIPOC adoptee writers and artists collective. About Lana Reeves: Lana Reeves is the author of How to Love a Sinking Island, forthcoming from Penguin in June 2027. Her work has been published in The Atlantic, Beloit Poetry Journal, Gulf Coast, Meridian, Prairie Schooner, Southern Humanities Review, and elsewhere. Originally from O’ahu, Hawai’i, she is currently a Harold Stirling Vanderbilt Fellow in Nashville, Tennessee, where she teaches undergraduate poetry. About Laurel Sorenson: Laurel Sorenson is a writer and musician from Encinitas, California. She released her debut collection of poetry Power, or So She Thought, in January 2026. Written like a grimoire and spoken like a folktale, Sorenson’s first book roots modern notions of love, sex, power, and home in the old ways of those who commune with the land and the ghosts of those within it. Sorenson toured the U.S. for over a decade with her band, The Love-In. She is working on her first solo album, which was recorded in 2025 in Mexico City with Grammy-winning producer Adan Jodorowsky. Sorenson currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee with a rotating cast of dogs. Find her either roaming the streets or with the Instagram handle @laurelsorenson_ About Tianeé Harris: Tianeé Harris is a Brooklyn-born poet, writer, yoga teacher, and co-host of an astrological self-development podcast. Her work explores grief, womanhood, embodiment, and spiritual reckoning after loss. She currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where she balances motherhood, podcasting, teaching, and the ongoing labor of becoming. She believes that art is not only expression, but responsibility, a bridge between what was survived and what is still unfolding. About Cortney Warner: Cortney Warner was born in South Korea, raised in Ohio, and calls Tennessee home. Cortney travels around the country performing stand up and produces multiple shows in Nashville. Cortney released her second comedy special, “Confessions of a Homeschooler” on Burn This Records and is in consideration for the 2027 Grammys for Comedy Album of the Year. Cortney runs the comedy nights at The Blue Room and has satire published on points in case, humor darling, White Limozeen, Medium, and Flexx Mag. She was a finalist in WME’s “The Big Pitch” pilot writing contest in 2024. She is also a regular presenter at The Belcourt and teaches comedy writing at The Porch.
