Full description from organizer

A culture bearer, a poet, a visual artist, and a musician discuss how they use their art to address gentrification in New Orleans. Several poems in our 2026 selection, Libre by Skye Jackson, address gentrification in New Orleans. Inspired by these pieces, we've gathered artists for a conversation about how they approach the topic of gentrification in their work. Facilitated by Kelly Harris-DeBerry, the discussion includes Maroon Queen Cherice Harrison-Nelson, Skye Jackson, Brandan "BMike" Odums and Margie Perez. This event is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be provided. Aja Yard is accessible to community members requiring mobility-related ADA accommodations. The nearest bus stop is at St. Claude and Charbonnet, approoximately a five-minute walk.
