Free classical music concert featuring the Manhattan Chamber Players in "The Romantic Era" Crescent City Chamber Music Festival Free Public Concert Concert No. 6 - Manhattan Chamber Players in "The Romantic Era" Dixon Concert Hall, Tulane University Friday, October 23, 2026 Doors: 6 PM Pre-Concert Talk and Q&A: 6:30 PM Music: 7 PM In a world filled with constant distractions, this year’s Crescent City Chamber Music Festival promises to provide relief and renewed inspiration with seven free public concerts, Oct. 15–26 in New Orleans that embrace the theme, “Music That Cuts Through the Noise.” Audiences are invited to experience the beauty and authenticity of live chamber music performed by celebrated artists from across the world, performing alongside members of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. Ensemble-in-Residence the Manhattan Chamber Players flexes its Romantic muscles with music from that great, wildly varied era of chamber music composition in a recital including Dmitri Shostakovich’s early, absolutely wild Octet, Joaquín Turina’s pan-European, rarely heard Scéne Andalouse and CCCMF’s first ever presentation of Johannes Brahms’ towering, masterful Piano Quintet. Join us in the unmatched acoustics of Tulane’s Dixon Concert Hall for an evening of sublime music making!
