Johnny Sansone *Happy Hour Concert Series* featuring Johnny SansoneJohnny Sansone is a New Orleans blues and roots musician whose lifelong journey began with the saxophone at age eight and guitar and harmonica by age ten. Inspired by Howlin Wolf and mentored by blues legends James Cotton and Jr. Wells, he later toured with Ronnie Earl, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Rogers, and Robert Lockwood Jr.

After settling in New Orleans in 1990, Sansone developed a distinctive sound blending blues, boogie, swamp rock, Cajun, and zydeco, while becoming known for his powerful harmonica, accordion, guitar, songwriting, and gruff vocals. His acclaimed recordings include Crescent City Moon, Poor Mans Paradise, The Lord Is Waiting and the Devil Is Too, Once It Gets Started, Lady on the Levee, and HOPELAND, produced by Anders Osborne and featuring the North Mississippi Allstars. A longtime advocate for Louisianas culture and wetlands, Sansone has become an important voice in New Orleans roots music, with HOPELAND earning recognition as the top-selling record at Louisiana Music Factory during the 2018 New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. Doors: 4 pmShow: 5 - 6 pmSnug Harbor Jazz Bistro presents live weekly concerts. You can see these shows every Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday in person or by streaming on the Snug Harbor Facebook page. This is a free performance with no ticketing.
