#AmsterYardSoundsJazz: Milena Casado

Amster Yard Sounds presents trumpeter and composer Milena Casado—rising star of acoustic performance and electronic experimentation. To conclude our 2026 live jazz series curated by Marta Sánchez, Amster Yard Sounds, Milena Casado brings to the stage her distinct fluid improvisations and deeply personal compositions. Stay after the show for a reception with the artist! Milena Casado is a rapidly rising figure in today’s jazz scene, earning widespread attention for a bold artistic voice shaped by expressive trumpet work and emotionally driven writing. Hailed by The New York Times as “a revelation” by LA Times and WBGO as an artist to watch, she has collaborated with leading musicians such as Terri Lyne Carrington and Vijay Iyer, and has appeared at major international venues including Carnegie Hall and the North Sea Jazz Festival. As a bandleader, she fronts a dynamic quintet and recently released her striking debut album, Reflection of Another Self (Candid Records), a deeply introspective work exploring resilience, identity, and personal transformation. --- After the concert, we invite you to enjoy a glass of Torres wine and an opportunity to engage in an informal conversation with the musicians and fellow music lovers—a perfect way to continue the evening in the warm spirit of community that defines Amster Yard Sounds. Amster Yard Sounds is proudly sponsored by Torres, one of Spain’s most respected and internationally admired wine families. With more than 150 years of winemaking heritage, Torres has built a global presence that includes the United States, where Marimar Torres founded Marimar Estate in California in 1986, bringing the family’s tradition of quality and innovation to American soil.
