Bhutan, Brains and Beyond: When Tech meets Mindfulness

In this age of nearing AGI and technofeudalism, a sense of loss of of control, job displacement and erosion of trust has created a widespread genuine fear from AI, AI agents and data centers. Whether this fear is based on tangible physical burdens on local communities or a broader, existential symbolic resentment about society's future, it is important to imagine how a hi tech, hi touch, and an in touch society will function. This stack, now tested at the Drinchengang Regenerative Village includes: UBEE (a Universal Basic Energy Equity) where citizens collectively own the renewable energy infrastructure that powers AI and data centers; CityOS, an open, democratic AI-operated governance layer for the city that integrates public data in real-time, and RTED (Real-Time Executable Democracy), a blockchain-secured mechanism that facilitates decentralized, transparent, and direct democratic participation for urban governance.
