An evening of celebrating Clarissa Bitar's vinyl release of his album Bakhaf al Layl, in partnership with Trans Music Archive. Vinyl DJ sets by MIRA MIRA. RSVP for entry, 25$ suggested donation, NOTAFLOF. 7PM - Doors and opening set by MIRA MIRA 8PM - Vinyl listening followed by live performance by Clarissa Bitar 9PM - Closing set by MIRA MIRA Clarissa Bitar is an award-winning queer and trans Palestinian oud musician, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and cultural worker. Their work is anchored in their ancestral Arab heritage, while treating the oud as a living, iterative tradition. Clarissa’s sonic tapestry opens portals that nurture a sense of dignity and defiance to colonial erasure, be it in classrooms, on the streets in protests, or in intergenerational third spaces. Clarissa's work has been featured on Netflix’s MO, as well as in radio, film, and international exhibits in the US, UK, Australia, Cuba, and the Middle East. Their latest album was featured on NPR's All Things Considered. Trained by legends such as Simon Shaheen, their music has captivated audiences worldwide. MIRA MIRA aka Samira Mendoza is a fearless & expressive sonic disruptor, performance artist, and organizer whose work bridges personal history, diasporic reflection, collective transformation, and resistance music. They are a member of Las Mariquitas, Spiral Generator, Recao Rulé, To Ara, 8 Ball Community, DJs Against Apartheid, and Juventud Unida por la Independencia. Trans Music Archive is a non-profit organization founded to record the history of trans music and safeguard its future. - RSVPs are good for one per person but do not guarantee entry.
