Haunted by Light

Artists: elin o’Hara slavick, Natasha Viosna Moody, Dan Ortiz Leizman, David Koh, Leigh Davis, Cinthya Santos-Briones Co-curated by Katherine Guinness In this group exhibition accompanied by a series of artist-led workshops, SoRA and six contemporary artists invite you to question the faultlines between vision and understanding: what can we see? What should we see? And what do we fail to recognize despite seeing? On view are cyanotypes, autoradiographs, and lumen photography documenting the slow exposure of objects to fluctuating sunlight and radiation, the “breath” of plants captured and cast as shadows through glass sculptures, flashing diodes of screens that constantly remake and unmake digital images, and audiovisual environments for collective meditation on ephemerality and finitude.
