Indha Room: An Evening with Rohith Jayaraman

In Tamil, _indha room_ means "this room." For one evening this fall, the room is ours. Fontainhas DUMBO welcomes Seattle-based vocalist and composer Rohith Jayaraman for _Indha Room_, an intimate listening salon built around his forthcoming singer-songwriter album, _Oru Murai_, arriving in early 2027. Written entirely in Tamil, the record is still taking its final shape, and this is a rare chance to hear it before the world does, in the company of the artist who made it. Rohith performs alone, just voice and guitar, sharing five to six pieces from the album alongside the stories behind them: where each song began, what it asked of him, and how it found its way into being. Rooted in Indian music, his work has moved fluidly between jazz, Indian traditional and crossover projects, and Middle Eastern music. _Oru Murai_ brings that range down to its most personal, unadorned form.
