Lectures on Tap - "Your Cosmic Address: Where Are We in the Universe?"

Professors, experts, and storytellers giving thought-provoking lectures in NYC bars. 📍 Location: Exact address given in confirmation email 🧠 Lecture: "Your Cosmic Address: Where Are We in the Universe?" 🎤 Speaker: Dr. Mark Popinchalk Your street address tells people where you live on Earth—but how would you describe your address in the Universe? Join astronomer Dr. Mark Popinchalk for a mind-expanding journey through space as we figure out exactly where we are in the cosmic neighborhood. Together, we’ll trace how humans have understood the size of the cosmos over time, then use modern astronomy to “write down” our true universal address. What “street” is the Sun on? What “city” is the Milky Way in? And what does the map of the Universe actually look like on the largest scales? Dr. Mark Popinchalk is an astronomer at the American Museum of Natural History and an adjunct professor at NYU. He hosts the late-night science comedy talk show Science, Tonight!, and is also a planetarium presenter, ultimate frisbee player, and bread maker. Come explore your place in the cosmos with Dr. Popinchalk.
