NYC Otaku Choir Fall Concert

Come experience the NYC Otaku Choir's Fall show! Otaku Oratorio returns with a new anime-inspired concert experience combining live choral music, voice acting, original illustration and projected visual-novel storytelling. Performed by the Otaku Choir alongside a cast of voice actors, Otaku Oratorio 2: I Set Out to Save the World, but It Turns Out the World’s Greatest Threat Is a Kid Who Calls Me Mom unfolds across the stage and screen at the same time. Original hand-drawn characters, illustrated environments, manga-style sequences, in-world broadcasts and visual-novel scenes bring the story to life while the choir performs music from anime and video games. The story follows Usagi Kitadani, a young military academy graduate living in the shadow of her celebrated father, whose legacy is tied to humanity’s last encounter with a mysterious cosmic being. When an expedition to the dark side of the Moon uncovers something unexpected, Usagi is drawn into a mystery that challenges much of what she has been taught about her family, her government and the history of her world. Featuring music from Final Fantasy XIV, NieR: Automata, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Elfen Lied, The Apothecary Diaries and more, the production takes inspiration from anime, JRPGs, mecha, tokusatsu and visual novels while using the concert choir as part of the storytelling itself. Part concert, part visual novel and part anime-inspired sci-fi story, Otaku Oratorio 2 is built for audiences who love anime and game music, but want to experience it in a completely different way.
