Pass The Aux takes over Quad Recording Studios in Times Square on Sunday September 20. Quad has made records on 7th Avenue since the early 1980s. The hallway is lined with plaques, the credit list the studio publishes runs from Beyoncé and Kendrick Lamar to Cardi B, J. Cole and Migos, and Pop Smoke cut part of Shoot for the Stars, Aim for the Moon in this building. For one day, four of their rooms are open to you. The rooms Studio Q1 is 1,200 square feet built around a 64 channel Neve Genesys Black, with dual 15 inch Augspurger monitoring and a live room that handles full tracking sessions. Quad calls it the best sounding room in the city. Studio Q4 sits on the 12th floor with a vocal booth, a private lounge, and a view over Times Square. Q2 and Q3 round out the floor. Nobody performs at Pass The Aux. You pull up, you plug in, and your song plays over the system in a world class room for a floor full of artists and industry people. The record does the work.
