September 20th NYC Climate Week EcoTour

Take a boat ride up the Hutchinson River with the Hutchinson River Restoration Project! Come aboard the Hutchinson River Restoration Project’s EcoTour and explore the rich history and ecology of the Hutchinson River. Participants will travel along the river while learning about the wildlife, marshes, and natural habitats that continue to survive within this urban environment. The tour also offers a firsthand look at how industry and development interact with the natural ecosystem of the river. From active industrial sites and transportation infrastructure to restored marshlands and wildlife habitats, guests will gain a deeper understanding of both the environmental challenges facing the river and the ongoing efforts to protect and restore it. This unique experience is a great opportunity for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, students, and community members to connect with the Hutchinson River and learn more about one of New York City’s overlooked waterways. Details: • Bring: Water, snacks, and a jacket (it’s cooler on the water). • Parking: Free street parking. • Direction Details: City Island Marina, 521 City Island Avenue, gate directly across from Archie’s to the left of Jack’s Bait and Tackle Parking Lot. Someone will be waiting by the gate to take you to the boat. Ordering a ticket means you agree to the waiver. Please complete waiver prior to event. Note: Every attendee must fill out waiver. If you have others joining, please ensure they fill out the waiver above as well. Additionaly, we cannot not refund donations for guest cancellations made less than 48 hours before the tour begins.
