Speed Book Clubbing

Come to New York’s only book club that creates new book clubs! Commonplace.NYC exists to add social events to your reading life (or perhaps, reading to your social life!) Our goal is to reshape the book club back into its original purpose: to get people to engage more deeply with their books and with each other. We do this by reducing the book club into a formula: A Book Club = One Shared Event + One Shared Book (you can do more, if so inclined). This simplified version removes the “homework” feel of the traditional book club, while simultaneously making books read more memorable and engaging. The Low Down On Speed Book Clubbing Speed Book Clubbing is a format where you engage with everyone else in five minute sessions to find what reading interests you share. From there you will co-create an event together. (Learn more here) Events created during Speed Book Clubbing will then be added to the event calendar on the Commonplace.NYC website. By the end of the night, you’ll walk away with multiple events and books to consider, and maybe even a few new friends!
