The Anatomy of Art: Book Launch (and Alexandra's Bday too!)

Celebrate the release of The Anatomy of Art and Alexandra's bday with a reading, installation art, food, and dancing at Gibney on Nov 19. Join me on Thursday, November 19, for an evening celebrating The Anatomy of Art, my new book. We’ll gather at Gibney: Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center, 280 Broadway (entrance at 53A Chambers), from 7:00 to 9:30 PM. It’s also my birthday, which gives us one more reason to celebrate. The evening begins with food and drink: Middle Eastern bites from Sahadi's, prosecco and non-alcoholic beverages. As you settle in, you can wander the gallery and take in installation art by Same As Sister and Janessa Clark. Pop-up improvisation by Kayla Hamilton appears throughout the space, and tiny creative invitations are scattered around the room for you to find and play with. At 7:30, we'll gather for a 40-minute reading and panel conversation with me, David Dorfman, and Brenda Dixon Gottschild. After that, we'll return to the Gallery for music and dancing, birthday cake, book signing, and conversation. Books will be on sale through P & T Knitwear, or bring your copy if you already have one! Tickets are $20. You can also add a ticket so an artist can join us for free, or add a gift to support the launch. I would love to celebrate with you!
