BDC Studios | 5009 Broadway, New York, NY 10034 Doors Open: 9:00 AM | Takeoff: 9:30 AM Join us for the first annual Michael Almedina Memorial Run & Scholarship Fundraiser 5K a New York City shakeout run bringing together runners preparing for the 2026 Marine Corps Marathon, while honoring the life and legacy of our brother and friend, Michael Almedina. Before heading to Washington, D.C., and Virginia for Marine Corps Marathon weekend, we invite New York runners to come together, get some miles in, connect with fellow runners, and build community before race day. This run also holds a deeper purpose. Michael was a proud Marine, runner, mentor, speaker, and community leaderwho dedicated his life to service, leadership, education, health, and community. On the first anniversary of his passing, this event will honor his memory and help continue the values he lived by. Supporting the Michael Almedina Scholarship The event will raise funds for the Michael Almedina Scholarship, which supports students at Brentwood High School on Long Island as they pursue higher education. Our goal is to award the second scholarship at the end of the 2026–2027 school year in June 2027.
