It was about questioning tradition, challenging expectations, and proving that great wine could exist both inside and outside the rules. In this blind comparative tasting, we'll explore several iconic Super Tuscans alongside one remarkable Sangiovese that asks an equally important question: does breaking the rules make a wine great, or can tradition still produce something extraordinary? He's farmed at California estates including Mayacamas, Oakville Ranch, and Laurel Glen; made wine at Diamond Creek and Aubert in Napa, as well as in Umbria; and worked as a sommelier at Blue Hill.
