A historian presents Johnny Appleseed's legacy before a guided orchard tour at Ochs Fruit Farm. Guests then taste fresh and baked heritage apples while learning about local farming traditions.

Join us for an evening celebrating the rich history and heritage of apples in Ohio. This special program will explore the legacy of Johnny Appleseed and the role apples have played in shaping early American agriculture, communities, and traditions. The evening will feature a historian presentation highlighting the life and impact of Johnny Appleseed, followed by a guided orchard tour led by the team at Ochs Fruit Farm. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about apple cultivation, heritage varieties, and the connection between historic orchards and modern farming practices. Enjoy a heritage apple tasting featuring both fresh and baked apple varieties as we explore how different apples were used historically and how their unique characteristics influence flavor and baking today. Be sure to arrive early to browse Ochs Fruit Farm’s charming farm store and explore their selection of local products. This free public event is part of a series celebrating America’s 250th anniversary and connecting communities with the stories, landscapes, and traditions that have shaped our region.
