Silly Sock Creatures Workshop

Come to our play-shop and turn your laundry orphaned socks into silly and adorable creatures! Has the dryer been eating your socks lately? Not sure what to do with the ones without matching mates? Join us on Thursday, November 12, from 6:30 - 8:00 pm to make new friends repurposing mismatched socks. Come to this play-shop and turn those laundry orphans into silly and adorable creatures! From puppets to lightly filled space aliens and stylized animals, you’ll learn how to deconstruct a sock, jazz it up with beads, buttons, and yarn, transforming them into something delightful! Liz Adamshick, local author and artist, will guide you through the steps to create your new soft friends. Inspired by John Murphy’s book, “Stupid Sock Creatures”, she’s made dozens of these, using supplies she has on hand and unlimited imagination. All creature-making supplies are provided, but we encourage you to bring your own socks. We’ll have some extra socks to share, too. Recommended for adults and kids ages 12 and up. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. No experience needed! ****Due to limited space, we require a refundable $2 deposit to secure your spot. This deposit will be refunded when you attend the workshop, or you can choose to donate it to the center. ****
