Huáscar Robles + Carmen Graciela Diaz: Los penúltimos días

Join us for a release event with writer and journalist Huáscar Robles, discussing his new book LOS PENULTIMOS DIAS. Moderating this discussion is Carmen Graciela Diaz. This event will be hosted at The Strand at Columbus Ave located at 450 Columbus Ave. --------------------------------------------------------------------- In Los penúltimos días, Huáscar Robles weaves stories of port-disaster Puerto Rico into perreo combativo-fueled resistance (a reggaetón-inspired form of protest) in the inconceivable world of trauma porn where characters ride a techno-labyrinth of Cross-Fit sects, crypto investors and amusement parks. Huáscar Robles is a writer and journalist from Caguas, Puerto Rico. He is a 2024 Letras Boricuas Fellow from the Mellon and Flamboyan Foundations. He is the author of the book of short stories Los penúltimos días (Pana libros, San Juan, PR, 2026) novel Demonios (Abismos Editorial, Mexico City, 2025) and Puerto príncipes: temblemos todos, (La Cifra, México City 2018), a nonfiction book on Haiti after the earthquake. He is a former fellow of Columbia University's Ochberg Fellowship and University of Southern California's Institute for Justice and Journalism. He has published in The New York Times, NYU Temporales and Chicago Tribune, among others. He is currently working on a film adaptation of his first novel.
