IPS e.max® Ceram Art: Efficiency and Artistry on Monolithic Restorations

Discover how to create life-like restorations with the new IPS e.max® Ceram Art material Overview: This immersive two-day lecture and hands-on program provides a comprehensive exploration of IPS e.max® Ceram Art and its application in achieving highly esthetic monolithic restorations. Participants will learn how to replicate natural color, depth, and surface character while maintaining an efficient workflow that supports predictable clinical and laboratory outcomes. Through guided demonstrations and practical exercises, attendees will develop techniques for creating lifelike incisal edge effects and individualized characterizations on both IPS e.max lithium disilicate and IPS e.max ZirCAD Prime and Prime Esthetic zirconia. The program also introduces methods for reproducing natural gingival esthetics, enhancing the realism and harmony of final restorations. From foundational principles to advanced application, the course covers the full range of color and structure components. Participants will gain clarity on material selection, appropriate use of liquid ceramics and color pastes, and efficient layering strategies designed to elevate esthetic results while optimizing productivity. In this course, you will learn more about the following themes: • Understand the development philosophy behind the IPS e.max Ceram Art kit, including: principles of color (primary & complimentary); use of essence & illusion pastes and how it may be utilized to manipulate light absorption, reflection and refraction. • Learn to replicate various tooth characteristics and effects observed in the natural dentition (e.g. natural incisal edge, mamelons & hypocalcification). • Differentiate application protocols for lithium disilicate and zirconia substrates. • Learn to apply gingival characterization techniques to achieve lifelike pink esthetics. • Incorporate efficient workflow strategies to balance esthetics with productivity. Instructor: Martin Schmid Martin Scmid is originally from Germany where he received his dental laboratory training. For several years, he worked in a commercial dental lab in Germany, before accepting a position in the US in 1994. Martin previously owned a full service laboratory while consulting and teaching for various dental manufacturers in North America, Europe and the Middle East. He has a broad range of experience in the removable, fixed and digital department. Martin currently works for Ivoclar Vivadent in Amherst, NY as a Senior Technical Consultant.
