Value x Place

Responsible Growth for a Resilient City What makes a place truly valuable? Value x Place brings our community together to explore this question through data, planning, and vision. Join us Monday, October 26th from 6-8pm at Film Streams Dundee as Urban3 presents their analysis on Omaha's taxable value per acre using 3D visualizations to show how different types of development generate economic return within the city. The City of Omaha will also introduce the next major phase of engagement for the comprehensive plan: the Future Land Use Map, shaped by the input our community has shared over the last 2 years. There is so much that makes a place valuable, beyond its monetary value. A strong city-wide tax base, paired with smart cost management, gives Omaha the resources to invest in what does provide value: safe neighborhoods, vibrant public spaces, reliable transportation, and opportunities for everyone to belong and thrive. When we're smart about how we grow, we create room to invest in the values that make Omaha home. Value x Place will help our community understand the connection between fiscal health and the comprehensive plan and prepare residents to engage meaningfully in the next phase of shaping Omaha's future. About the Speaker Urban3 looks beneath the surface of municipal finances to unearth economic potential that can create sustainable futures for communities of all sizes. About the Series Conversations x Place is a series of events that invites national and local thinkers, leaders, and doers to share their perspective on how we can build a better city.
