The Way Within: An Exploration of Yin Yoga + Zen with Mallory & Wan

We spend so much of our lives moving, doing, thinking, and looking outside ourselves for answers. The Way Within is an opportunity to move in the opposite direction. Join Mallory Riess and Wan Chang-Hamachi for a two-hour experiential exploration bringing together the practices and wisdom of Yin Yoga and Zen. While they come from different traditions, Yin and Zen share a beautiful invitation: to slow down, become present with what is actually here, and learn through our own direct experience. This isn't simply a yoga class, and it isn't a lecture. We'll move between gentle movement, longer-held Yin postures, meditation, stillness, teachings, reflection, and conversation, allowing the experience itself to become part of the learning. What We’ll Explore 🧘 Yin Yoga + Gentle Movement Mallory will guide an accessible Yin practice that gives us time to settle into the body, soften some of our usual effort, and become more aware of what we experience in stillness. 🌿 Zen + Taoist Wisdom Wan will weave in teachings and reflections inspired by Zen and Taoist philosophy, exploring presence, awareness, and our relationship with ourselves and the world around us. ✨ The Energy Within Yin Yoga invites us to explore more than muscles and shapes. Together, we'll become curious about the subtler experience of the practice and what we notice when we become quiet enough to pay attention. 💬 Conversation + Reflection There will be space throughout our time together to ask questions, share observations, listen, and explore. You are welcome to participate in the conversation or simply receive and observe. Who Is This For? This workshop is for anyone curious about going a little deeper. You do not need experience with Yin Yoga, meditation, Zen, or Taoism. You don't need to be flexible, and you don't need to be comfortable sitting on the floor. Come with curiosity and a willingness to slow down. Whether you have practiced yoga for years or are just beginning to explore these ideas, you are welcome here.
