About the event Join us at The Swell Center for a guided movement meditation experience with Alejandra Rico, accredited 5Rhythms® teacher. Accompanied by music she selects for each Wave, you’ll be invited to listen to your body, follow your own movement, and discover what it feels like to be fully present. Come with curiosity and move at your own pace. No dance experience is necessary. Who would benefit? This experience is for people who want to: • Unwind and reconnect with their bodies. • Explore mindfulness through music and movement. • Express themselves freely in a welcoming environment. • Make room for joy, creativity, and personal exploration. • Connect with others through a shared experience. Whether you already enjoy yoga, meditation, or dance, or you’re trying something entirely new, you’re welcome. Come on your own or bring a friend. Open to ages 15–99. Participants should be able to move independently. Please contact The Swell Center before registering if you have questions about mobility needs or participation. What we’ll do together Alejandra will guide us through a warm-up and introduce the practice before leading a 5Rhythms® Waves®: Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness. Together, these five rhythms offer a framework for exploring different qualities of movement. With music and guidance, you’ll have space to notice your body’s responses, express yourself in your own way, and explore the experience as it unfolds. This is an invitation to bring your genuine self, connect with the people around you, and discover your own rhythm. What you may take away Each person’s experience will be different. The practice offers opportunities for: • Greater awareness of your body and how you feel. • A sense of presence and connection with yourself. • Moments of freedom, creativity, and joy. • Connection with others through shared movement. • A new way to explore meditation and self-expression. Our time together • Arrival and welcome: Settle into the space and meet Alejandra. • Warm-up and introductions: Begin moving and become familiar with the practice. • 5Rhythms® Waves: Explore the five rhythms through music, guided invitations, and your own movement. • Closing: Bring the experience to a close before departing. What to wear and bring This experience is best when barefooted and in comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. Bring along a water bottle. No prior dance or meditation experience is required. First-time participants are welcome.
