Beyond the Stage: A Music Business Conversation with Jai Yoko

Florida Classic weekend: pull up to BYNX for real talk about music, money, ownership, AI, and building together. Bring your questions. Let’s talk about the business behind the music. Florida Classic weekend brings plenty of opportunities to get outside, get seen, and make connections. Let’s also make time to get your business together. Join Jai Yoko at BYNX in Orlando for Beyond the Stage—an open community conversation about what it takes to build a career around the music you create. Got a song out but don’t understand where all the money goes? Trying to figure out splits with a collaborator? Wondering whether that paid opportunity is worth it? Curious about AI, ownership, or what’s changing in the industry? Bring that to the room. We’ll get into questions like: • My music is streaming. Am I collecting everything I should? • I bought the beat. What do I actually own? • What paperwork do we need before releasing a collaboration? • How do I decide which opportunities deserve my money? • Where does AI fit into my creative process—and what should I understand about ownership? • How do I build a career that reflects who I am, beyond chasing numbers? Jai will kick things off with a few foundational jewels about royalties and the music business. From there, your questions, experiences, and perspectives help shape the conversation. There’s knowledge in our community. Let’s put it in the room. COME READY TO JOIN IN Ask the question you’ve been sitting on. Share something you learned the hard way. Listen to somebody whose experience is different from yours. You don’t need industry connections, a big following, or all the right terminology to participate. Whether you’re just starting out or already working in music, you have a place here. We’ll spend about 90 minutes talking, followed by a 30-minute mixer to meet people, make connections, and keep the conversation going. Drinks and light bites will be available for purchase from BYNX. WHO’S INVITED? Artists, producers, songwriters, musicians, managers, and anyone working in or finding their way into the music business. All genres, backgrounds, and experience levels welcome. Orlando locals and out-of-town creatives alike—pull up. Come for the jewels. Stay for the connections. Leave with a clearer next move.
