New wave legends Men Without Hats bring The You Can Dance if You Want Tour to Mt Dora with Athens post-punk icons Pylon Reenactment Society MEN WITHOUT HATS — The "You Can Dance If You Want" Tour with special guest PYLON REENACTMENT SOCIETY Friday, November 27, 2026 · Doors 7:00 PM Mount Dora Music Hall at the Community Building · 520 N. Baker St., Mount Dora, FL Men Without Hats built one of the most recognizable catalogs in 1980s pop, and they're taking its most famous line out on the road as the "You Can Dance If You Want" Tour. "The Safety Dance" went top ten worldwide and hit No. 3 in the United States, followed by the equally indelible "Pop Goes the World." Both were later inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame.Founded in Montreal by the Doroschuk brothers, the band has spent the last decade touring the world and is still very much a going concern — their newest album, On the Moon, arrived in November 2025. Frontman Ivan Doroschuk fronts a lineup that plays the hits like they mean them and mixes in new material that proves the synths never went away. Wikipedia + 2 Opening the night is Pylon Reenactment Society, and this is not a nostalgia act. PRS features Vanessa Briscoe Hay — the original voice of the legendary Athens post-punk band Pylon — alongside Jason NeSmith, Kay Stanton, and Gregory Sanders. The band has written new songs with Pylon as its guiding star, delighting longtime fans while making plenty of new ones. Their 2024 debut album Magnet Factory drew wide critical acclaim, and their sets blend Pylon favorites with the new material. If you love R.E.M. and the B-52's, this is the band that shaped the scene they came out of. AthFest + 2 Two acts, one night, four decades of songs that still fill a room.
