Kathy Collins (Secure Ideas) Bio: Kathy Collins is a Senior Security Consultant at Secure Ideas, where she specializes in a wide range of penetration testing, from physical to web applications. Kathy studied Cybersecurity at Fullstack Academy New York and has earned certifications including the CISSP, PCI Qualified Security Assessor (QSA), and ISO 27001 Lead Auditor. Her diverse background includes 20 years in non-profit, education, and corporate roles within the hospitality industry, enriching her approach to security. Kathy has presented at ShowMeCon, Sunshine Cyber Con, as well as through local speaking engagements and online presentations. Presentation: From Findings to Fixed - The Real Value in a Penetration Test Report Description: The report is the deliverable, but a more secure environment is the goal. The gap between those two things is where the work happens, and that work falls to whoever is reading the report. Severity ratings are useful, but they describe a vulnerability in isolation. They don't account for your compensating controls, your data, or how your business runs. A dozen findings often trace back to two or three root causes. Most readers jump straight to the findings and miss all of it. We'll get into reading scope before you get to the findings, why bumping a severity rating up or down is up for discussion, and how to tell when a dozen findings are really two or three problems. We'll also cover what retests cover, and how to put together a remediation plan that survives the conversation with leadership. Human Kieran (ThreatLocker) Bio: Kieran Human is the Lead Cybersecurity Engineer at ThreatLocker, known for his technical depth and public speaking on cyber risks. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology with a minor in Secure Computing and Networks, followed by a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Privacy from the University of Central Florida. His graduate thesis explored the intersection of cryptocurrency and cybercrime. At ThreatLocker, Kieran’s work spans cyber threat analysis, technical communications, product development, and investigating advanced technical issues for enterprise clients. He also contributes to internal research and product refinement, working with developers to address security concerns. Kieran is a frequent author of white papers and produces ThreatLocker educational webinars in collaboration with CEO Danny Jenkins. He approaches every technical challenge as a puzzle to be solved, aiming to deliver clear, actionable solutions while fostering a deeper understanding of cybersecurity. Presentation: How to defend against hidden risks of AI tools in the workplace Description: AI tools have the power to transform organizational productivity while exponentially increasing risk. Join this session to discover how agentic AI can build and run ransomware on its own. We'll also explore how prompt injection can override the instructions a model is meant to follow, quietly steering it toward exposing data and bypassing controls. From there, we'll cover the defenses that hold up against these attacks, so you can adopt AI across your organization without handing adversaries an easy way in.
