Idyllwild Art Opening: OFF THE RECORD + Wine & Fudge Tasting

Made in Idyllwild art opening featuring transformed vinyl, natural wine, botanical fudge & celebrating 16th Anniversary of The Funky Bazaar One record. Infinite possibilities. Join us in Idyllwild for the opening reception of OFF THE RECORD, a community creative exhibition transforming rescued vintage vinyl records into original works of art, craft, sculpture, mixed media, fiber, assemblage, design and more. Presented by Made In Idyllwild and hosted at The Funky Bazaar, OFF THE RECORD brings together artists, makers, musicians, crafters, students, local business owners and first-time creators — all starting with the same unexpected canvas: a forgotten vinyl record. Come see what happens when dozens of creative people are handed the same object and told to make it entirely their own. This special opening reception also celebrates The Funky Bazaar’s 16th anniversary — sixteen years of art, oddities, independent creativity and beautifully unclassifiable people in Idyllwild. During the reception Guests are invited to: • Explore the OFF THE RECORD exhibition and discover one-of-a-kind transformed vinyl artworks • Meet participating artists and makers • Vote for the People’s Choice Award • Browse three stories of art, handmade goods, vintage finds, fashion, curiosities and local treasures throughout The Funky Bazaar • Enjoy a complimentary natural wine tasting presented by AlpenGlow Lounge • Sample botanical fudge by Flower Child Fudge • Celebrate The Funky Bazaar’s Sweet Sixteen • Shop original art and select exhibition pieces available for purchase Complimentary tasting experience (while supplies last) Registered guests age 21+ may enjoy a curated natural wine tasting featuring: 1 White • 1 Orange • 1 Red Wine service is presented in partnership with AlpenGlow Lounge. Guests may also enjoy a botanical fudge tasting by Flower Child Fudge. Please RSVP through Eventbrite to participate in the complimentary tasting offerings. Valid ID required for wine service. You do not need to drink wine to attend — everyone is welcome to enjoy the art, fudge tasting, shopping and celebration. About OFF THE RECORD The exhibition began with a stash of old vinyl records left behind by Funky Bazaar founder Peter Buhl. Rather than discard them, the records were given a new life and placed in the hands of artists, makers and creative people throughout the community. The result is an exhibition built around reinvention, reuse and individual expression. Every participant begins with one record. What happens next is entirely up to them.
