Come learn, play, and enjoy locally made mooncakes by Little Moon Bakehouse, Gong Dessert Shop by Droo the Baker, and Napoleon Super Bakery. Co-hosted with Oakland Bloom, The Mahjong Project and, Moments Cooperative the evening will feature: 🀄 Mahjong sets and tables - come with friends or meet new ones over this cultural classic game; tables will be beginner-friendly as well as select tables designated for playing for points (Hong Kong style) 😋 Food by M&D Food - Hong Kong comfort foods like scallion pancakes with curry tofu dipping sauce, lapcheung sticky rice, and more 📚 Moments Cooperative books - purchase your very own signed copy of Nicole Wong's book 'Mahjong: House Rules from Across the Asian Diaspora' as well as other curated offerings from Moments Cooperative 🥮 Mooncake tasting + pick up your favorites - just in time for Mid-Autumn Festival. We'll be offering a limited number of mooncakes (vegan, vegetarian and classic lotus paste+ salted egg yolk) for sale. We will also be offering complimentary tastings of unique flavors* 🍸 Enjoy a special themed cocktail and drinks by Open Test Kitchen It takes all of us to keep community food and culture alive and thriving.
