Native Plant Prep & Pack

Last spring, The Nature Conservancy, Virginia Department of Forestry, and volunteers helped sow 1,000s of native seeds in growing trays to support groundcover restoration in the Virginia Pinelands. It's time to remove the seedlings from these trays and box them up so they are ready for planting, and we need your help! We will be working at the Virginia Department of Forestry Nursery in Courtland, VA. This is an indoor volunteer opportunity, but the warehouse is not temperature controlled, so please be prepared for all conditions. Volunteers are welcome to bring a tall stool to sit while they are working on removing seedling plugs from trays. Please bring water, snacks, and dress in layers for your temperature comfortability. We will have a morning and afternoon shift available, but you are more than welcome to sign up for both and stay the full day! If you have any questions, contact Brynna Strand at [email protected].
