This land has been in our family since 1920. The first vines went in between 1999 and 2001, the tasting room opened in 2006, and twenty years later the same family is still pouring. To mark the twentieth anniversary we are hosting a five course dinner on Saturday, October 24. The evening begins with a glass of wine and a walk in the vines at 3:30pm, then five courses from Chef Barry Sexton of Opinionated Palate Catering, each paired with a Wycombe Vineyards wine. Sommelier Harry Jones of The Cellar by Somm will guide the pairings course by course, and Winemaker Rich Fraser will share the stories behind the wines. Reception · Vineyard walk Traminette — dry, floral aromas with pink grapefruit notes First course Butternut squash risotto, roasted pumpkin, fava beans, herb butter Riesling — dry Alsatian style, crisp citrus, delicate lemon and lime finish Second course Coulibiac of salmon en croute, lobster mousse, Champagne beurre blanc Chardonnay — Burgundian style, medium dry, apple notes with hints of vanilla Third course Fire roasted filet mignon, mushroom, eggplant, leeks, red wine reduction Cabernet Franc — dry, full bodied, red fruit and a soft black pepper finish Fourth course Pumpkin empanada with ice cream Dessert wine — limited release sweet white blend $166 per guest, all five courses and pairings included. Seating is limited and this dinner will not repeat. Guests must be 21 or older. Dress for the season — the evening starts outdoors and late October has opinions.
