DIY Stencil Screen Print

Learn how to screen print without photo emulsion! Learn how to screen print without photo emulsion, or 'exposing' your screens! In our DIY Screen Printing Workshop, STITCH AND DESTROY owners, Haven and Corey, will teach you how to make a contact paper stencil to screen print your design. Arrive at the workshop with a drawing or design in mind (if you have it drawn or printed out, that is best! Must be maximum 9" Width x 7" Height) that will be simple enough to trace and cut out with an exacto knife. We will be screen-printing one design per person with one color [but lots of copies]. All materials will be provided to create a patch but feel free to bring your own fabric or t-shirt to print on. If you are bringing fabric, please make sure it is 100% cotton. All levels are welcome! This is a beginner friendly workshop and you do not need any print-making experience. This workshop is open to folks 16+. Space is limited in our studio- we are able to accommodate 5 attendees. Sign up now to secure your spot! Location and Accessibility: This workshop meets in-person for 3.5 hours. STITCH AND DESTROY is located right off of South Street on 4th St in Philadelphia. Our address is 523 S 4th St. Philadelphia, PA 19147. There is limited metered street parking on our block and in this area it can be difficult to find parking. We suggest taking public transportation- Bus 40, 57, 12, 47, 42 and 21 are nearby. The Market-Frankford Line 5th St stop is 7 blocks away. The Broad Street Line Lombard-South stop is 10 blocks away. Please arrive on time so that the workshop can begin at 6 PM. We do have a bathroom available to attendees. There are multiple steps to get to the bathroom so, unfortunately, this is not wheelchair accessible. The studio/workshop space is up 4 steps of stairs but we can accommodate and move the tables we will be working at for this workshop to the “first floor”. Please let us know if you would like the workshop to take place in our “first floor” store area. There is a ramp to enter our store but because of how the building was made, there is a sharp turn when entering. Email [email protected] with any questions. Workshop Policy: Ticket refunds are available through eventbrite 7 days before the workshop. Please request refunds through eventbrite or email [email protected]. Please be mindful that space is limited in our small studio and there is a waitlist. Ticket processing fees are non-refundable. In the case of last-minute cancellations, after the 7-day refund window, due to sickness or unexpected unavailability STITCH AND DESTROY will offer attendee a 'Workshop Credit' equal to the price of the purchased Workshop Ticket [not including Eventbrite processing fee]. This will be in the form of a personalized Coupon Code, which can be applied to any one upcoming workshop we offer within the year. If this circumstance occurs, please email [email protected] ASAP- this credit is only available if we hear from you prior to workshop's commencement. In the event that STITCH AND DESTROY cancels this workshop, an alternate date will be chosen and ticket refunds will be available to all that are unable to attend the alternate date.
