With their new album, The World We Broke, Brother Starling pushes that sound forward. The World We Broke looks at a world that feels noticeably different from the one that came before it—and at the ways people have changed along with it. Across ten songs, the album touches on isolation, addiction, technology, loss, anxiety, manipulation, and uncertainty, but never loses sight of the possibility of finding something better on the other side. They combine psychedelic guitar with classical melodies, upbeat danceable grooves, and cryptic lyrics from the collective subconscious. Evil Twin Began in fall of 2021. As the original Covid lockdown began to end, the various scattered members of bands from Northwestern university decided to form a new band In Brooklyn, New York, playing their first show in the spring of 2022.
